Has anyone ever done a suspended wash down hose? Looking at doing something for a couple of calving pens I have with mats down that I can grab quickly, wash down the pen then push out of the way. Think I seen a livestock mart with a hose above head on a spring before.
We have a wash down hose connected to volume washer.
When not in use it sits on hangers up on the wall at about 2m, just out of the animals reach but within mine.
Thanks for that. Was thinking of trailing the hose with bungee cord but is suppose if it has to be strong enough to pull the hose back up it could be a bit if an effort to pull down. Putting the hose on some hooks could be a better option
Seen a photo recently of a wash down hose on a large swinging arm, similar to the swinging arm in the tank room but on a larger scale. This one swung out into the middle of a collecting yard to aid washing down, but something similar might work for your calving pens. Sadly cant seem to find the photo.
