Cambridge roller or grass roller for grass?

Hi everyone, I’m just looking for some advice/words of wisdom on the subject of grass rollers or cambridge rollers for grass as i’ve heard two conflicting opinions. We’re looking to buy a new cambridge roller anyways but just wondering if it does just as good of a job as a grass roller does so we know if need a grass roller or not. I’m 17 so i’m not massively experienced in the subject as i’ve always ran cambridge rollers on grass. Cheers

Complete waste of time on grass unless it's rolling in new seed I've mowed plenty after someone rolled silage ground with cambridge rollers and there's a lot of stones that wouldn't be there eith a decent flat roller

Cambridge roller isn’t heavy enough for flattening mole hills and pushing stones in. Fine for firming a cultivated seedbed but nothing else.

Where the Cambridge will float (especially any breaker rings) is good for consolidation, but the solid roller puts the whole weight on any projections and usually educates them.

The diameter of the rings means little. If anything bigger sections means a longer foot print so less ground pressure, just less rolling resistance (no pun intended).

We will use cambridge rolls on grass this year, ground is very wet still and should do a good job firming ground where the cattle had poached in the Autumn.

They both do a job as others have said. Sometimes you'll be in a rush and do half a job in a third of the time with folding rings.
