Can Am vs Honda

That’s fine if you are on flat, free draining dry ground. Half my ground is that wet just now I wouldn’t get 20 yards down the field, other half is that steep, I’m in 4wd with new tyres on the bike, pickup wouldn’t have a hope.

As for the OP, if you are happy with Honda, why change?
Good all round bike, high residual value, large dealership network and spares are relatively cheap
lol i farm where jack and jill hill is in winter , as the rhyme goes jack and jill go UP the hill , huge springs on top of a steep hill (bike leaves wheeling's even after this dry spell ) still never got bike stuck though , wouldnt without 4wd though .
still dont think you need all the "extras" on these bikes , its that that lets them down not unlike modern cars , do you really need an autobox on a quad ?

Yes
Could argue do you really need an inside toilet or anything else but a metal seat on a tractor

I know every farm is different but I’m not talking about a wee wet bit from a spring rising. I’m dealing with the largest river in the country, 2 weeks ago it was flowing across the farm at 5-6 feet deep. Even though it is drying out it will be at least another month before we can get on it.

edit. A month until we can get on the ground with anything other than the bike

I would suggest a lot depends on scale, and what you use the quad for.

I don’t do a fraction of the miles on mine that some do, but it is essentially my office all winter. It is the one machine that has to start.
I could of course do a lot of it on foot, but I would take many more hours doing it, and still not be able to run the same number of stock without extra labour.

This 👆. Summer it’s pretty much just for checking stock that I can’t do in the 4x4. Bit of gathering when it’s too far too just go on foot.

Winter it will be out with the rappa 3/4 days a week plus feeding the ewes. Nothing more annoying than going too the quad and it won’t start on the button whenever wanted!
If it wasn’t for the quad and Rappa I wouldn’t bother doing electric fencing at all!

That's the trouble everything is getting dearer I don't know where it will end, I think we will be worse off this this year than last
I think you will be proved right! Sheep and cattle are a brilliant trade but ALL the inputs are flying up and cumulatively I’m sure they will end up higher than the increase in price!

Just wondering what wait times are for Hondas? I ordered one in January, but dealer doesn't know when it will arrive. Are these companies sticking to their agreed quote prices?
