Cantilever Steel Size

We’re looking to add a cantilever to cover over where the cows feed. How wide can we go, steel size will probably be 254 x 146 x 31. Will probably fit 9 x 3 timber purlins and f/c sheets. We want to stop the rain on the feed but not block out any sun or air flow. The existing eaves are about 18’, we have 2.5m bay screens fitted below the eaves. We‘re thinking the cantilever would be qu a bit lower but needs to be high enough so that the tractor and feeder wagon can get under.
Any experiences or pictures of similar set ups.
Thanks
