Carbon footprint of food

I see that quorn have started doing this and are promoting there products to the people “who care about their carbon footprint”

This is for a Queen wonder grain.

I do wonder how good this actually is though. It’s only the equivalent of a few miles in a car and th difference between using a small and a big car on a trip to the supermarket is probably 8kg of CO2.

I think this is the future of food labelling coming here. I bet Local sourced food can do lots better than this.

They gloss over the middle bit.

Interestingly I was told it’s not currently possible to total cost audit grains grown at the moment. I think it’s good they are doing it. I wonder about the accuracy though.

That particular product is mixed with rice & "Bulgar wheat?" Don't think it would be that low a CO2 footprint but I do agree more food should show it's environmental footprint if it can be done accurately.
