Is it a difficult job to replace the hand brake cables on Case 1294? They need replacing on an uncared for Case 1294 that someone has let me borrow,to drive my firewood processor.
Also I have had starter motor replaced with a new one,BUT although drop tester says battery is ok,tractor will not turn over,BUT with jump leads attached to battery it will, what is wrong suddestions ,please ?? Thankyou for any suggestions as I am not that mechanically minded. :scratchhead:

check safety switch on gearbox lid if not starting off key , check multi-plug below dash as corrosion causes issues with starting
hand brake cables are straight forward to fit

If not an issue with the power supply to the little control wire on the starter (covered above).
Check the positive (+) lead from battery to starter solenoid (round thing on top of motor) especially for corrosion/dirt. Also check the earth, negative (-) strap between the battery and tractor bodywork and between the starter motor and tractor bodywork. Sometimes the starter does not have an earth strap fitted, but you could give it one with a jump lead, to test?

If in doubt, ask again, or post a picture, or better still leave it back?
Sometimes the hassle just isn't worth it ...............
No experience of handbrake cables ............. (n)
