The 525 was a combine that Case acquired when it took over the MDW Fortschritt factory at Neustadt in former East Germany. I never had any experience of the 525 but ran a 514 and a 517. Although they were frowned on as people thought they were cheap and nasty they were quite reliable and
very easy to work on. The 514 was probably the best machine but both did a reasonable job. I got rid of the 517 when Case took over from Bonhill Engineering who were the importers into the UK and spares started to become a problem. I sold it to a local farmer around 2000 and although it is left in the field until required he is still using it.
Check Case for spares availibility as this could be a problem.
There were never many in the UK although they were quite popular in Europe and especially Scandinavia due to their ability to cope with wet late harvests.
Hope this helps.

Mine were 1988 f reg and were fitter with East German IFA engines but although Perkins were fitted to the 514 for other market none ever came to the UK. The 525 was fitted with a Volvo Penta of 8.7 litres producing 192 hp and hydrostatic transmission.
