CASE AFS Creating headland swaths and in out points for drilling

Struggling to get my headland swaths and in/out points to work.

I am currently using Rangepoint on Case's standard AFS screens in Pumas. But two things I struggle with:

1. Very easy to set up A-B swaths in the field for pass to pass work but finding it near impossible to create headland swaths using the field boundary (using 'Field' swath and then 'Create from Field Boundary'). Often end up with just a couple of headland swaths when i need 5 or 6 times round the headland, and it also insists on a gentle curve at the corners which drives me nuts (we do reverse turns).

2. There must be a way for me to identify (and maybe automate) the in/out points for in field work such as drilling but i cant find anything to do this. Is there an audible alarm (like the field boundary alarm) or a signal that i can set up to do this?

Any help really appreciated. Thank you.

If you click on the field swath after it’s being selected, it will come up with a list of options. One will be to change to round mode or change to square mode. If you change to square mode it will cut the corners so that their square instead of taking you round the curve. One of the other options is ‘Edit field swath’ when you click on the field swath. Here you can change the number of headland swaths to as many as you like.

There is a method of getting the screen to beep at you when you need to lift-lower the implement but I find it much more comforting to run round the field on the Field headland swath that you wish to pull up on as you can actually see where you need to be, hopefully you’ll be able to do this once you’ve got point no 1. Sorted

I’ll get some pictures tomorrow as it’s not the best layout and it should be made simpler, took me ages to get my head round it and even now I find myself pressing random buttons to try to get it to do what I want!

If you click on Swath Select, it will come up with this list of options

If you then press swath manage, it will come up with this list of options

If you then press Edit Field Swath, it will come up with a map of the boundary like the one below.

As you can see in the left hand top corner you can select how many headland swaths you want.
If you go back to swath manage and select square mode it will leave the corners square rather than round as you can see in the two pictures below.

If the corners are still round when you select square mode go into Edit Field Swath and change the Radius in the top right hand corner as shown below. Not sure how many degrees, I just punch different numbers until it goes square!

That's brilliant Steve - thank you. Pity Case don't provide some decent manuals for this sort of thing!

I’ve been playing about with my nh system today in stubble fields creating boundary’s and setting up headland passes . It definitely takes a bit of setting up to get right . Can manage to get square corners and right amount of headland passes but I still seem to get one rounded corner ?

Have you tried playing with the Min corner radius? If you have then all I could suggest is try recording the boundary further along the field. Sometimes I’ve played with the max turning radius in the implement settings but can’t remember if that helped or not!

Apologies for a slight ‘thread hijack’.
Does anyone know how to export field boundaries and A-B lines from an FM-750 to a Pro700?
I’ve saved all of the field data from the 750 on a USB stick, guess that is the easy bit.
