Case Puma hydraulics

We have a 2012 Case Puma which is not producing full pressure through the spool valves. Does anyone know whether it has a pressure relief valve which could stick. If so is it cleanable and where is it located?

Try checking the pressure from bottom to top on rear valves, top one may be less than bottom. Also check pressure at mid mounts if you have them. If these produce full pressure and your rear valves are dropping pressure then your compensator valve is knackered on your pump. Very dear from case cheaper from claas if it is.

We replaced the compensator valve today at a cost of over £500 for the part, which Does had in stock. Does anyone know why you can't just adjust them to increase pressure? We were advised not to attempt this.
Since it is awkward to access I just fitted the replacement and changed the oil and filters. Haven't tested it yet.

Its also a common problem on NH's where that valve sticks, both our T7's have similar issues where they wont lift the drill right to the top unless you dead end a spool valve. I'm going to look into it once the silage is over.

Regarding adjusting the pressure I think its because they stick, probably scored slightly so adjusting it wont really fix it. But the new one would need setting up?

We were told that they are preset and so we could change it ourselves. We were also told elsewhere that it may be possible to source a non genuine part but as you state it would need setting up for this application. If this is not done correctly it can damage the pump.

This valve controls the swash of the pump. Machines nowadays are all much the same pressure and flow wise. Speaking from experience aways fitted the cheaper part with no need to set anything ( have worked for main stealers 15 years now).

Common fault on cnh tractors although not on any other brands ive worked with. Might have something to do with the clenliness when machining, again only a fault noticed with cnh machinery. How many hours on the clock?
