cat d4 donkey engine

Has anyone fitted an electric start for donkey engine on Cat D4, Saw one a few weeks ago but not sure what form of electric motor used ,but had a belt drive to rope starter pulley.

Aren’t they usually just starter motors with the bendix removed?

i have a complete D4 2cyl pony motor to sell with rebuilt mag, new rings etc etc. it is the side mounted type that engages with the flywheel. it has its own electric start. Made the mistake of rebuilding that first and then having to scrap rest of tractor. It was absolutely stuffed .
