Sincerely hope it all goes well for you.

made me think of something I saw in a&e once. A rather difficult senior patient needed lifting to a better position on the bed. Two nurses, one either side, pulled him further up the bed. The problem was that one had caught the catheter and popped it out in the process. Ouch.

If had one I'd strap it to my body with duct tape.

Having a catheter is part of dealing with the prostate. Once I got used to one, I found it quite handy! No need to rush to the loo, just turn the tap on and run it off when convenient. Having a sense of humour certainly helps in dealing with old age! :ROFLMAO:

I once had a week in an intensive care ward (fell through a roof). There was a big row between the junior doctor and a pair of nurses about the removal procedure.
He was adamant it should just be taken out. The nurses were equally adamant the valve should be closed for a time to allow the bladder to part fill. They won:)

Had it removed yesterday .The nurse got me to have a big drink before to fill bladder.Went ok for 2 hours then could not pee so nurse back and catheter refitted .The nurse thinks the constipation stopped me going. As she said if only they had given me a shot of antibiotic when they put th camera up none of this would have happened. Going to have another go at removal next week!

I had one last year, luckily fitted during my op, only had it three days, to be fair having it removed was fine but I was on large doses of intravenous paracetamol, big relief when I managed to pee ok as didn't fancy having to have it replaced. Luckily not had a problem with my prostate so far, my father had his rebored three times between 65 and 86

Hi have now had 2 goes without the catheter .The first lasted 3 hours before the retention got so bad it had to be put back in.The next trial lasted 2 days before going to a&e to have it put back in.The Dr in hospital was really good and arranged for a hospital trial in 2 weeks to try and get it gone and see what going on.This catheter now has no pain at all and Iam doing jobs like treating sheep with strike and working on the combine albeit slowly however it looks like I may have to combine with it in if the weather clears up.All this could have been prevented if only they had given me antibiotic when they put the camera up there.
