Cattle drench guns

Any one recommend a good gun and hook to drench couple of hundred cattle , unfortunately they have to be drenched , 100ml dose .
With this many to do im willing to spend a bit to get a good one to make the job easier and not break like a lot of the plastic ones

We have one like this which works well. https://www.hyperdrug.co.uk/Hook-Drenching-Gun-For-Combinex_Fasinex/productinfo/HOOKDRG/

We changed products this year to a lower concentration medicine, some of the cows need 80-90ml. They waste so much. We’re going back to the more concentrated (more expensive) product next year.

Why do they have to be drenched rather than pour-on? Pour-ons definitely work and compared to drenching, they allow a far more accurate dose. Someone will disagree, but it may be that they have cattle which hold their heads up and are far too polite to spit.

Is there an effective pour on Flukicide (ie one that kills all ages of fluke)?

A head scoop on the crush works wonders. We have noticed that Lims do not spit much out, but every Simmental does.

My mistake. But I didn't realise that Simmentals had worse manners than Limousins.

Neither did we until the other day. One other thing we found is they absolutely hate the smell of it. When there's some spilt on the ground they really don't want to go in the crush, and they throw their heads back and start slobbering before you even go near them, which they never do normally.

Cydectin triclamox pour on does down to 2 week aged fluke, the withdrawal of it is quite lengthy so if you haven't got anything close to finishing then it may be another option to look at.
There are hook doser available on the market so maybe have a look at that

Thanks for replys . I know a pour on is the easiest way but the product i have to use only comes in drench form . Many years ago a company lent me a steel gun that hooked up to a compressor to pump the drench through . Never seen one for sale anywhere since

Te pari do a battery doser, no experience of it though. It can be set up to 99ml.
Presume you could set it at 50ml and press button twice.

Reckon it be better with a bit of pipe and a hook doser as bit risky putting a £600 dosing gun in a suckler cows mouth!

Cydectin triclamox Pour-on
Only kills down to 6-8 weeks not like cydectin injection and Triclabendazole drench separately

I have a couple of those Fasinex guns, but they only go up to 30ml dose per squeeze. Not much of a problem with Fasinex 240.
Must have been lucky as I had mine FOC. ?

Think we got ours FOC too. Hopefully we’ll go back to Fasinex as well, much better stuff.

We have one of those and did exactly that with Zanil last spring - 2 x 50ml dose. Used the scoop on the crush. It doesn't have a hook doser but you might be able to cobble one. Much kinder on the hand than trying to squeeze out 100ml. You just squeeze it a bit like a drill.

Novartis used to have one they lent out years ago.
