What would be the typical rate £/hd/wk for cattle grazing?

Based on 400kg animal on good quality pastures if possible. Yorkshire

Many thanks

I dont think I've ever seen cattle increase in value by £195 over the summer (400 kgs at £2.20 now ,possibly 500kgs at 150 day at £2)but thats not the graziers fault.2 to the acre would give a very good return at that

In some situations, if cattle can be grazed away on seasonal grazing, a higher than economic rent can partially be recouped by virtue of having fewer and better doing stock at home.

Or put another way, if you take an acre of grazing away from home, the acre you
are left with at home can be used to grow additional winter keep.

Anyone paying these prices suggested will be better to sell the cattle as stores.
The OP is lookering them, they will need to be transported there and back, he doesn't say how far he has to drive but the cost of running a vehicle will be at least 45 p per mile. Unless this is exceptional grass and someone has put lots of fertilizer on it then much over one to the acre will be pushing it for the whole summer in the hope the animals will be over 500 kg at the end.

It's a well established fact that cattle finishers have been breaking all known laws of economics since time immemorial. And what better way of spending an afternoon driving to check your cattle, and being able to farm everybody else's farm on the way there and on a different route back.
