Everything over six weeks normally.

There was a local farm on 4 year testing a few years ago and when they went down, they went down dramatically Four years is nuts IMO.

Whole country yearly testing for thee years. Get some proper figures and sort the job.

Our last test was whole herd, as in all of them we are tb4
As an aside we have a test on Monday for 5 cows bought in from Wales, they were pre movement tested but we received a letter saying we have to retest between 60 and 100 days of the on movement

Fully agree, but why does that surprise you. Common sense doesn't come into it with these things. If you sold a cow off a tb4 just before test and it moved onto a tb4 just after a test then you are looking at just under 8 years till it gets tested, nothing wrong with that, all within guidelines...... Can't imagine why they never get on top of tb.

He currently has in region of 100 beasts on yet tested non last time he was due as all sold as stores. I know I am but a simple hill farmer but how will that ever control things

You mean he sells them before he gets the letter to inform him he needs to do the post movement test? Surely the post movement rules have stopped this..

Think you only need to post movement test if out of high risk area.
