Hi everyone,
As you probably know, scanning your own or anybody else's cattle using ultrasound is not legal in the UK, without a certificate of exemption. For this reason, we organise a DEFRA-approved scan course once or twice a year in Swindon. Our next one is coming up very soon, the 12th - 15th of May.
It's taught by the only person in the UK permitted to teach this course, and we also have two of the UK's top bovine vets on hand for one-on-one tutoring on everything from scanning the ovaries and judging the cow's stage in the cycle, to early sexing of the calf. One of them is Peter May; the first vet in the UK to do embryo transfer.
Our last course was in November and was so popular we ended up turning people away; this month, it seems to be the opposite (I think a lot of people are very busy with work this time of year). So, if you've been thinking about learning to scan your own herd or possibly offer this service to others, this would be a fantastic time to come along, as you'll get a huge amount of attention (we have only 4 students attending at the moment).
Please contact me if you'd like more information about why ultrasound is so useful, or any information on pricing etc.
Thank you!
