Cereals 2020 - Coronavirus Update

Over the past few weeks, the Cereals Team, as well as Comexposium's corporate offices, have been monitoring the growing health concern around the Coronavirus (COVID-2019).

As it stands, we plan to go ahead with Cereals on Wednesday 10th & Thursday 11th June 2020 until further notice. We will be in contact immediately if the situation changes.

The Cereals Team will be taking into consideration the warning issues from the Department of Health and Social Care, Public Health England and the NHS, and based on their recommendations and announcement, will make the appropriate call of action.

I imagine they are waiting on precise government orders in order to claim force majeure, with insurance ramifications. Or some such.

Everybody knows in reality it is not happening, from any perspective.

If this was China it would be going ahead. I fear we don;t have the same ability to contain.

We are talking to other shows about doing some kind of virtual versions of the shop with manufactures and plot tours and so on Seminar as well. Principle could work for Cereals too.

Essex YFC Show in mid May is cancelled. Highland Show just after Cereals in June is cancelled.
Bit like the Olympic Committee - they are just not taking the bull by the horns.
Who would actually turn up?

Wake up to reality, Cant see this going ahead no matter what, In the light of whats happening in most countrys , this virus is ruthless and it has already got a foothold in the uk, 283 dead,

Everyone is awake @patrick4 I don;t think anyone would disagree with you, but we also need to wait for the wheels to turn to get an official shutdown. This was almost confirmed by Boris yesterday in the 12 week comment. It has gone from up to 12 weeks to minimum of 12 weeks. I'm not sure we will see anymore shows for the next 6 months possibly 12.
