no .not an aspen or motomix question.
does any one bother to remove ethanol from their petrol to run it in their saws and other small engines?

petrol contains bio fuel which the chainsaw warriors in the us claim rots their fuel lines and carbs thus they use ethanol free fuel or remove it from the e10 petrol which is the same as what we use.just wondered if there are hard core users that do it, this side of the pond

How do you remove the ethanol from the fuel iv notice equipment very hard to start would this be the cause

Is it the ethanol that eats the fuel lines? Three machines have had new pipes lately and it never used to happen. If so is there a material for lines that is not affected?

So adding water to your fuel mixing shaking leaving to stand then draining off the concoction sounds to me asking for more problems than you are solving. Good luck to anyone but don't be surprised if your chainsaw dies ;)

Have I missed a comment about water ,,cant see it but it's the quickest way to destroy a saw or any type of engine

You said it’s not a motomix thread but I bought a new stihl strimmer, they had an offer on if you bought a gallon of motomix it got a 3 year warranty, so I went for it. I’m not sure if it’s just the new strimmer or the fuel but I’ve never known a 2 stroke start and run so well from cold. It says on the can 0 ethanol so there must be something in the argument.

the 1 s aw i have with auto tune i ironically run on motomix
Husqvarna recomend using their own XP oil in the mix and I've used that in my saws ,strimer and anything else with a 2 stroke , not had any problem with rotting fuel lines or running problems,,,I dont know what Stihl recomend for their M tronic engines but I bet it's something similar

Petrol mix left in a saw, unused for over a year, started yesterday no problem. The diaghphram's of most carburettors now are made of a plastic ,more than rubber material. Fuel lines have allways cracked and deteriorated with time and use, cheap and easy enough to change.

The only non ethanol petrol available other than Motomix / Aspen is Avgas.
It's a bit of a ball ache sourcing it just for chainsaws.
