Of course he was quick to state that only 6% of land in NP's are managed effectively for nature. No sh!t! Most of the land in NP's are farms and are manged for farming. No one ever talks about the alternative to farming from the food supply perspective- but they can wheel out a eco warrior to criticise anything from moor burning to grouse shooting.

Suffolk
Once more, Alex Thompson spouting about rewilding, and how sheep have destroyed NPs.
He evidently swallows the BS from monbigot whole, and spouts garbage which is 'opinion', not 'news'.

Why isn't he pulled up?
My Father often had letters printed in The Times re farming & forestry matters. He started writing in the 50’s and was still being published in the 90’s. He had quite a following within his generation of land managers who had a gentle and sympathetic attitude to making a living from the land.
I would strongly suggest that you countered with a letter to the editor of the above. You are well informed and write well so what’s to lose?👍

I recorded and played on mute so I could see the Riggits on kill Kingsdale Head
Kingsdale head was a well respected sheep farm, until the then owner retired & sold the farm 4 or 5year ago,now all the locals play hell about how it has grown up & not grazed, bar a few hardy breeds completly making no contribution to anything as its so overgrown its no good for birds or frogs or Fall. Oh & NE will have spent more filing the grips with stones than the farm is worth. :scratchhead:

I wouldn’t worry too much about what C4, BBC, et al say about anything. They’re all dead in the water, they just haven’t realised it yet.
