Aye-up,

I’m looking for 600mm high wire net stock fencing. For various dull reasons the cheapest and lightest will be more than adequate.

Best place to buy?

Cheers, Pete.

surely look no further than the most local supplier Pete ?

online supply, buying group or buying from some one out of area who dare be cheaper would not be be fair surely ?

Sorry, this will be of no help to you, Pete.

I've no idea who makes it or where they got it from but the wire that Anglian Water contractors are using to fence the pipeline that's currently coming across our farm must be 'budget spec'

It looks like it's made of fuse wire :woot:

I hope they get finished before the warmer weather comes 'cos I reckon it might melt in full sunlight

I suspect the Utilities contractors must source all their wire from the same outlet based on what was put up here...

I'm amazed fencing wire is not part of you and @Cab-over Pete's portfolio of companies - basically all it is, is a load of holes knitted together

:playful::playful:
@Kevtherev & @Cab-over Pete are going big time at the grass next year.

Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.

It’s not for me and it’s not for use in this area. It’s for a friend who’s not a forum member, not even a farmer and lives 130 miles away. He’s not using it for keeping stock in either.

I’m afraid I don’t know his local supplier. I suggested he use his local place but they’ve recently gone out of business. Probably been undercut too many times by big suppliers.

If I want wire for myself I’ll go to J. Hubbard and Son. I can virtually see their place from my house and their lad does work for me so why would I not use the local supplier?

I’ll certainly be recommending he doesn’t use Marketplace. Whereas before I read your post I certainly would have.

That’s quite petty & juvenile Pete.......which is a perfectly apt response.?

Back to the OP, unless your friend wants a big quantity, that stuff can be picked up at most local merchants like Wynnstay (round here anyway). If he wants a lot (Lord knows why, it's Awful stuff) then it might be looking elsewhere
for a pallet price?
If he’s looking for that quantity, would Charlie Hubbard not be able to sort it, and have it delivered straight there?

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
