Just wondering how much wear is acceptable on aps wear caps before replacing? Would it make a noticeable difference having new ones fitted compared to worn ones? Thanks all

I was told as long as they aren’t cracked or rounded they re fine

Yeah they were turned about 1000h ago

Just put a set in mine as I had a couple snap last year. I was quite surprised how thin the bolt heads had got as well! But at £250 for set it’s not ridiculous money.
I doubt it will make a massive difference to performance though.

Yeah bolt heads on ours are very thin, where did you get yours from? Ive seen variable prices for them.

Usually get most of my services parts from APH, they have the plates on offer @ £4 at the moment.

Change them it made a worthwhile difference on our old combine amazing the difference the sharp edge made

Unfortunately Yes! had one get in the shed earlier in the year but shot it before it did any damage. Will be getting washed off tomorrow.

Yeah thats what i was thinking, have a right job to thresh barley with it at moment. Got one to compare this is difference between old and new.
