Claas axos rear hydraulics jumping

Hi all.
I've just bought a 2012 axos.The rear hydraulics constantly jump when weight is on them. As soon as the tractor is turned off they drop. Even with no weight on. Any idea what the problem is? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the lift rams are leaking internally and the jumping is the system trying to maintain height as they drop.

What position is draft lever as sometimes reduces if right forward.

No idea if the lift ram(s) are inside or outside but sounds like a seal has gone. Outside ones would be easier to get at.

They have external lift cylinders but trouble is on sensing internal I been told.

Think 2nd lever away should be forward
1st lever is position control and should be back a bit too so not constant pumping.

Kinda what I was thinking but they drop pretty fast with no weight on once tractor is off. Would have thought a leaky seal would be slow.

If it drops soon after engine turned off the internal lift ram is leaking

If they are external rams, significant leakage would likely be coming out of the top of the ram. This is because they are single acting so nowhere else for leaked oil to go.

The external rams on an axos are just assistor rams, the main lift cylinder is under the top cover

Hard to get at then I'm guessing?

Lift up rear of cab a few inches and theres enough room to slide the top cover out after removing the draft linkage
