Claas combine quotes

I wouldn't have a clue what a machine like that costs now but are we thinking this quote will start with a 3, a 4 or a 5? I would hope a low 4 but I am probably dreaming.

I’ve got a friend who ordered a new claas last November and they have been told a month ago they will not get the combine for this harvest. Another contractor asked for a quote for next year to compare against a John Deere and he was told they are unable to quote for next years combines at the moment

The situation is dire for both Claas and JD not able to build, at least finish , combines for this year. I understand both companies have been telling customers they will have a fully warranted combine for this harvest but second hand as they can find, and when the new machine is delivered the warranty will start from that season, so effectively they will be getting a season of free warranty.
Both companies have apparently been swapping machines with each other to make sure the right colour is on the farm this time.
I think they have actually done well if it works asa they could have called force majeure blaming the Ukraine crisis

Could they call force majeure on the contract with the part exchange already taken away?

Our UK claas dealer rang my son to say he has 23 machines coming in off lease this year which i presume are being replaced. When my son was working for claas last summer they had a certain number for sale for this harvest and when they were gone they were gone. They aren’t building on spec just for order and they have a limited capacity to fill orders as well.

Weve changed combine this year , our new to us combine was bought and paid for in feb and we have it in our shed. . There could well be an opportunity for a bit of contracting further down the chain if we were so minded as it seems there are a number of farms that have let the old combine go before the new one has landed and others that are awaiting a stand in. In various ways could prove to be one of the best bit of advice our accountants have given us

What is the reason for Claas's difficulties, is it components supply, is there a factory in Ukraine upon which they rely not working?
