I've never understood this container problem, surely ship comes from china with say 10k containers filled with pointless consumables (well 9k of them, the other 1k might be useful). It chucks them off at felixtowe and it reloads with empties (or filled with our waste) and goes back? With the same number? Surely wherever it goes it arrives with a full load of containers (themselves empty or full) and leaves likewise?!?!?!
That is the theory , at one stage to China at least we exported allot of cardboard and plastic recyclables but there is not allot the west ships east so most containers are empty and just returning to be filled , they usually get cheap rate that way so shipping companies don't make allot out of there movement. Because container ships try to run to timetable being late into one port makes them late for the next and they risk loosing mooring slots so compounding delays, So the ship operators empty off the full boxes but have not been loading empty ones in an effort to try and catch up lost time due to delays that then caused a shortage of empty containers in China last year . The current delays are more connected to a lack of port workers in Shanghai due to a lock down

The biggest problem happened at Long Beach in the USA. They were so short staffed at the docks there was no labour to crane empty containers about so they just sat there in the wrong location. The priority was getting ships unloaded because the covid lockdowns and free money meant people stayed at home and spent money.

Surely 520k must include a header
No i'm pretty sure that's an optional extra. My son reckoned last harvest they were 450-500 k depending on options and a 45ft Convio flex header was £135,000. I was reading in an American magazine that if you spec up the top of the range John Deere combine it comes to $1,200,000 but that's with a header.
