Is there anyone out there who has some experience of the new Claas scorpion the liebherr type.

Yes we have a 635 .
It was one of the first in uk a pre production model so has had a few niggles and updates along the way. We do like it good vision. We find the service from claas eastern is superb .we never had service like it when we ran jcb

We already run Claas tractors so know how good the back up is. The backup we have had from our JCB dealer has been very good. How does the machine compare to a JCB. We have demoed a Scorpion and quite liked it. How do you find the transmission?

This months Farm Machinery Journal has a review and it wasn’t exactly great!

We had a 6030 scorpion and have a 1245 Kramer so we are used to hydrostatic transmissions. They have updated software for transmission a few times.

We did demo a jcb 535 and liked it. But class came with a better deal.
Tried Kramer as well which was a good machine.

Yes, I've had one since May (I think).
It goes forward, it goes backwards, it goes up and it goes down.
I won't tempt fate by saying anything about its reliability.

What was wrong with it?

Mainly rubbish on silage pit not enough power to push up the pit pit , and hyd power not enough to use multiple services together
But overall the said the class was in there view really outdated in terms of its controls and transmission to all the other handlers they have tested recently , although there was stuff they liked overall they expected more .

Had one here on demo and loved it compared to the hire jcb 536-60 we had on hire at the same time,hydraulic power ran rings round the jcb

What was wrong with it?

Its a good magazine and those boys have tested loads of loaders over the last couple of years so its definitely worth listening to what they are saying as they do know what they are talking about. They do proper on farm tests without any manufacturer bias. Bit like what Profi International was like 20 years ago before it lost the plot to advertisement money. Its a very good magazine - by far the best one out presently.
