I have just seen the trailer on the forthcoming series, due to commence airing on 10th February 2023.
It looks brilliant with Kaleb ,Gerald & Charlie to name a few.
I know that my non farming friends will be glued to their television screens ,and then on the phone to me.
I am however very disappointed with " Farmers Weekly" severe critical comments on JC & the programme in last weeks issue. .
I will no longer subscribe to the FW on this point alone

It was opinion pieces I believe.

Everyone entitled to it. Not just J Clarkson.

There have been a lot of critical comments of Clarkson on twitter from various farmers who see themselves as opinion formers and future leaders.

It seems to centre around the idea that the NFU (whom they usually praise to the hilt, or are involved in) have in their view been cosying up to Clarkson and Clarkson being seen as an ‘ambassador’ for farming.

Entirely confected in my view, Clarkson is an ambassador for no one but himself, but at the same time he’s a superb broadcaster with a hit farming show and the NFU can’t exactly ignore it.

As to his comments on Meghan, no he shouldn’t have made them, it was clearly supposed to be satirical based on Game of Thrones, but it wasn’t funny or clever enough to be satire. At the same time it’s hardly a hanging offence, particularly when Meghan is the sort of person who persuades her husband to launch relentless attacks on his dying grandmother.

looking forward to it

I have no issue with anyone prepared to say what they think, in fact such people should be applauded regardless of if you agree with their views or not

To many "yes men" in this industry and society in general ........ (actuality can I say "men" ? that's probably sexist ...... or gender assuming / un inclusive ? someone help me with my correct pro nouns please !)

Have neither of your sons asked you to call them by they/her pronouns and demanded you buy them frilly dresses yet?

If not then you’ve clearly failed them as a father.

this is one one of the most ill thought out and stupid comments I have ever read on this forum.
You want to unsubscribe from a publication, for publishing an opinion piece, written about someone else’s opinion piece in another publication. Not to mention its about clarkson, one of the most opinionated people in todays media.

I had an email from Defra recently , asking if I’d answer questions about the exit lump sum scheme . It told me what pro noun the person wished to be called , and how to pronounce their name phonetically . I didn’t bother to reply.

Give just one example of someone doing half as much to publicise UK farming if you can.
