I think this tractor collecting is generational.probably lots of people used them back in the day and want to own one again.id love a 5000 or something ford of that era but as a tractor lover I’d not want a major oranything pre 70s as it was not my time,if that makes sense.cant see people who are using computer controlled and electric everything tractors today wanting them in 40/50 years time as I can’t see there being any about
nick...
Very true, I love the big internationals but not so much interest in the tractors of the 60s/70s

About 5 years ago I sold a ih 574 and a mf 175 and a jd 2030 all for under 3k each and when you see the prices of those type of tractors now it makes you wonder. Also kick myself about 10 years ago I got offered a DB 995 for £900 🙄

the difference as i understand between ford classics and john deere classics is that john deere as a company actively support the older john deere tractors more so in the usa and canada still making genuine spares for the older models, where ford and newholland they dont still support the earlier models by offering genuine parts?

TW 15, bubble cab, advertised for £11k at Michael Burdge recently. Nothing special, DP not working, sold within hours........
A nice one £20k. Probably more. Missed the boat I have.....

I was lucky, bought my Tw15 before prices started to skyrocket. Got it for £7.5K but had a brake problem. Cost me £200 for a new master cylinder from the states and a seal kit off ebay. It's had a set of tyres, a geared starter motor, and a roof panel.
I get the odd message telling me that it should be washed, parked in a dry shed and a blanket draped over it.
Duck theirs some weird people about !!! 😆
It was bought as cheap hp to do a job, which it does quite nicely !

I don't know which is worse. The ones who buy cheap rough tractors, give them a quick bad respray and ask big money for them.
Or the ones who scour the world for new old stock genuine parts and end up spending two to three times what it will be eventually be worth !
Christ last year someone was selling new old stock cigarette lighters for ford super Q cabs (just the bit you hold to light your cigarette) he asked £50 each and sold the lot in a couple of days !!!!
