It’s not an ooops really is it, if we worked in a proper industry there is no way anyone would post such a photo and admit it really. As said, hopefully a reminder to us all.
Uh-oh, good thing the tractor gods only wanted a monetary sacrifice this time and not a limb.....or a life.
Thats why i posted itI would call that a reminder to us all……
Every industry has its dirty little secrets. It’s not an ooops really is it, if we worked in a proper industry there is no way anyone would post such a photo and admit it really.
apart from the lack of guard on the P T O, we find it difficult to keep all the pipes and wires out of harm way our answer is to wrap them all together in a plastic hydraulic spiral and tye them up to the top link then there are just the ink arms to worry about keeping them at a hight so they don't cafle with the P T O or the drawbar

If your PTO guard was complete it would not have happened end of story. A PTO shaft cannot tell the difference between a piece of loose string and a piece of clothing. Being in a hurry is no excuse for repeatedly working with a dangerous machine.Thats whati usually do, this time i was in a bigger than usual hurry and forgot
It was the loose string that caught

In an ideal world, yes. Add a rushed, stressed, tired operator to the equation and anything's possible. These safety systems are there to protect us from ourselves.Only a lunatic goes near a working pto shaft
No Woops at all. Simply a shabby approach to safety. Looking how bright the shaft is there has been no guard on there for a long time.
The amount of accidents there have been with unguarded PTOs over the years limbs ripped off workers killed etc it beggars belief that people still use machinery with no guards in place……if I had a spare one I’d send it to him free of charge if he can’t be bothered to safe guard himself & others!!!No Woops at all. Hmm, you stated it only happened as you were in a hurry and therefore neglected to secure pipes out of harms way, that’s the very same ‘hurry’ that has people wound up in unguarded shafts.Only a lunatic goes near a working pto shaft
