Was changing A share today
The ones at the top have done 175 acres that works out at 61p an acre

The leading tines have done 1028 acre's that works out at 68p an acre

Making a total for parts at£1.29 an acre this does not seem that bad considering that we are not buying cultivator or plough parts any more

Is that right the leading tines costs around £700 for a set of 9? Think that is what you are saying if my maths is correct.
Have an SR which has the old knock on points for a leading tine. Think they cost me nearer £800 for 9 points but will have to check on that. Only get 300 acres out of a set here drilling osr.

Are you on very abrasive land? We get over 1000 acres out of a set of the carbide tipped ones on a 4m.

They are a lot cheaper. Think il get a set here and see how they compare. Used to use the 4 inch Spaldings ones on our SL. Always thought they wore better than the bourgault ones

Have used the spaldings ones they did not fit had to use angle grinder to make them fit they did not last as long ran them at same time as genuine .the worn ones do make very good narrow or spoon shares and are alot cheaper

I've got a new 3m Hybrid and have just done 330 acres with it.
Out of interest, do you find that one share wears quicker than others? I do. The front rhs one (looking from back) wears about 20% faster than the others. I can't work out why.
I got through 2 and a half sets in 330 acres. So, that's also £1.29 per acre too!!

Weird.
