Usually send my clipper blades to the local hardware shop and they get someone to sharpen them, but that isn't happening currently. Is there any way I can do it myself?

I saw a vid on ytube a couple of days ago using an angle grinder and I'm going to give it a go with the blades off the battery clippers.

Really not advisable!! And don’t believe everything you see on YouTube, Facebook etc

If they are sheep ones (comb and cutter) then they need to be done on a proper shearers grinder to achieve a hollow running through the middle. Cattle blades are done on a lapping machine which is flat and also finer grit than for sheep, although I have done cattle blades on my grinder.

I've seen that video as well, where your man holds the blade with a magnet. Might work, but wouldn't like to try any expensive blades doing it either, or fingers

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
