Clover safe grass spray

Is there a spray or spray mix that will kill docks and dandelions but not clover? Struggling to establish it again so don't want to kill what I've got

According to our local merchant there are clover friendly dock sprays but according to our spraying contractor anything that's clover friendly is also dock friendly. :scratchhead:

Headland spruce on young dock, if they are oldish then you'll need to add a bit of spice like pinnacle or cimarron.

Squire ultra does work but timing is crucial.

mvf do one of their grass mixes with clover in one but none in the other ,same grass varieties.all seed supliers could and possibly do,do the same with out to much trouble ir.

the point i make is that the dock problem is bad news i know because i have some,
so first stage is to sow the straight grass seed then take out the weeds when appropriate and with a good /appropriate herbicide.

then overseed clover seed and other broadleaved small seed bits and bobs at the later date using a grass harrow roll/or just roll

establishing clover is yes v.important but imo getting rid of docks is more important...................................in the short term

On new reseeds a mix of triad plus spruce is clover safe and works well on young docks. Keeps the field clear of them for around 3 years but after that haven't had much success with clover friendly stuff.

Squire seems to knock them down only for them to reappear the following year.

Really miss the old Legumex Extra. Spray a reseed with that in year one and you would never see a dock in the ley no matter how long it was down for.

Now going down the @Bury the Trash route. Using cheap generic versions of Starane to take out the docks, then overseed clover back in.

+1 ref legumex. What was in it that was so bad?

Thank you, sounds like normal spray and re establish clover maybe best bet. Docks aren't bad and might keep on top of them spot spraying if I can find the time.

Dandelions are slowly going away over last 3 years while I've been sorting out low phosphorus levels and hoping some more lime next year will finish them off. Would be nice to spray the whole field and be done with it!

Sorry to hijack the thread, I've got old PP which has been hammered hard for the last 5 years with sheep, then last year we took a good crop of hay off it. We are in the progress of doing some soil sampling as it really doesn't perform as it should. But this year we seem to be inundated with buttercups, there used to be a lot of clover in it, but a lot of it seems to be buttercups now, im new to this whole looking after grass thing! What would people recommend?
