Great price of kit, apart from lambs under 8-10weeks we hardly do any sheep work without it! We can even get our blackies to run it and that's saying something! Can take a while to find the best set up at first and a dog that knows the score is very helpful!

The leg bar at the base of the ramp does a decent job of stopping the ewes backing up and also allows you to queue at least 2 ready.
I'd say they get used to running up it, helps if there's also daylight at the end of the race?

In my set up I actually find ewes flow better without a dog anywhere near.

I've made our forcing pen to suit the dogs, even got gaps to save them having to jump in and out. In the process of making entry gate to forcing pen spring loaded so I can open it from the clamp, only need to get off clamp every 80/100 ewes to pen up.

I find if the lambs are too young they turn in my lead in race and spoil the flow. Would prob work fine if the race was narrowed a bit but I haven't got to that modification yet!

Yep have done that mod. Helps ! Narrowed by about 100mm

Also had some Prattley back stops in lead up race but have now removed them as ewes flow without.

Pics not the best, all dog gaps either close off with pins or doors for younger lambs but rarely close them off. The gaps are all 8" wide (too narrow to get a huntaway in the future!) so ewes never bother with them. It's the mesh gates that will be spring loaded.

It's a heavy duty version of scotpens none return fork. If I'm doing a job that the sheep are flowing through fast I fold it up but slower tasks its stays down.

You'll wonder how you ever managed without! Crutch, jab, drench, tag, weigh and draft. The only thing it won't do is turn them over!

The only problem I had was moving it about on my own - so I made this :-
