Imho the Russians that have their finger on the nuclear button will not press it as they understand the implications of mutual destruction and know their family would die if they press the button

In the 1930s all the European governments bent over backwards to avoid war with germany
eventually it happened with out the english Channel and the uks stand we would all speak German there would never have been a free democratic eec or eu

russia under putin has got bolder and bolder at taking over other countries against their will over the last decade or more
if he cannot change their government he bombs them to oblivium and his troups have raped pillaged
the atrocities get worse with each conflict
the west will have to stop Russia at some point Russia will not stop taking over its neighbours

Sanctions = no grain

quite why the markets thought differently last week I don't know, or how these ports would suddenly become operational and all the mies swept from the black sea ?

As per my post a week or so ago - the market is swimming with BIG sharks now who will trade it up and down to keep taking profits, glad I was on holiday and not looking or I may have lost my nerve and bailed out of positions

they do like fiction but probably right as politicians now seem desperate to play down any talk of potential food shortages
My guess would be they will look to positive planting progress over the past few weeks and the favourable weather. They'll then Balance this with some low early yield harvest data (and hint this won't be he case as it continues) to essentially take an overall neutral approach so they can't be blamed for anything.

Russia and Belarus will talk about what the world wants to hear
but It is actions that matter not talk

the Russians talked about military training manouvers and no intention to invade Ukraine
they talked about cease fires

ect ect

talk is easy but action tell the facts

the market will react down to delivery of grain as long as grain is in storage

all the grain needed for next year is still 95% in the field some has only just been planted in North America and still in the seed Bin in the Southern Hemisphere
