A northeast farmer bought a farm out there a few years ago. Was cheap land.

Yeah was out last June. They are over here a couple of times a year. He's a big into no till and soil health.

I went on a tour of romania with a certain estate agent five yrs ago
they didn't tell us before that only cash buyers can buy land. No mortgages available, so total waste of time

Just asked my pal. Apparently you can't buy land but you can invest in the companies that own the land.
I must say, in my limited experience in Estonia I found them scrupulously honest more so than a lot of us.
