I heard that they ran out of Maize, boat late, and had to switch to wheat in a hurry. Maize boat currently being unloaded at Sunderland. Which is odd when there are 2 bloody good wharfs on the Tees.

Probably £1/t better price at Sunderland. The yeasts won’t enjoy a sudden change in diet!

Could even be 50p all adds up on a big boat.
Run out probably means down to the last 20,000 t don't think they would do a total change they seem to be pretty good at what they do.

Mine have always gone at 50kg minimum.....some years 47kg......some years less than that. Suppose the difference is I'm not on a buyback contract.

Different mill have different minimum. Also different from year to year depending on harvests.

I don't know what export facilities you have in South Wales, but @super4 is an hour's haul from 3 dockside facilities for boats 2,000 - 55,000 tonnes. That may have a bearing on your ex farm price.

Wagon driver picking rape up yesterday said the milling wheat was now pouring into the port he said the last three load of milling wheat he had taken to mill had all been rejected for glutton I think he said.
We‘ve got a pile of skyfall here think I will let it go to local mill offering mid 90s for Jan at least it won’t get turned around.
