Why is barley so much cheaper than wheat this year?
We normally export allot to Spain, this year they have produced more of their requirements themselves due to a good harvest there. Why is barley so much cheaper than wheat this year?

I love bullish advice, I make mine own up, where does yours come from?Lots of European malting barley downgraded to feed too. I've had advice to hold old crop feed barley as the sentiment is bullish post Xmas. I don't see how, given the glut of maize unless the £ keeps going down.

I like crazy bullshite too!Oh bullish.....for a moment I thought you said bullshi.......

Ask him again if trump wins........A professional in the trade whose opinion I trust. Since I've already sold 90% of old crop feed barley it makes no difference to me really.
Stronger dollar when HRC wins would reinforce your friends advice. Call me indecisive but I have a foot in both camps! So what is the view if Trump wins? Investor flight from Wall St, devaluing the the Greenback and making the US grain export competitive? A drop in the US$ is usually supportive to our futures markets.
A weaker $ should mean the US grain exports are more competitive...... going to be an interesting couple of days.So what now for grain prices... $ is going to get battered but gold is soaring will soft commodities follow
That's what I think so sold some wheat gp1 £140 ex two days ago. Will the pound rise? biggest potential negative I can see.
