Yes, I think I will too. Short memories last time it went over £200 it went down rapidly! And plant lots of wheat, fudge the beans! £180 is a huge increase in what I’ve averaged for last year...

That is the double wammy of if they don't shut down but use only imported grains, as something like 70% of what goes in comes back out as DDG's so directly replaces some feed compound.

Feed compounds to livestock farmers are already seeing a £35+/t jump for this winter. I think any DDG's coming out to help ease that pain would be very welcome, whatever their GM status.

If you can get them! I don’t think any spot material is available from either plants they are sold up. If you haven’t booked it already you won’t get any this winter either regardless of price

Surely if you're locking in now at that price then you're also saying/thinking that this current rally this season has peaked or near to it. Still think it has a way to go yet and thus in turn will drag up Nov19 prices further??

Hmm wheat yields 50% more than malting barley on my farm.I don’t know if it’s wise for me to grow much malting barley if it’s only going to attract a 12% premium.

I’m guessing that’s a delivered price?! Around £175-£180 Jan 20 for spring malting barley at the moment.

Ive done 1t/ac of wheat and barley spread harvest to Dec this morning. Happy with that.

It will probably fall faster than it has risen, and UK prices are way above other regions around the world I'm told.
