The futures seem a waste of time at the moment. Trying to get anyone to sell barley for nov/April tip is impossible
Why do you think that is?The futures seem a waste of time at the moment. Trying to get anyone to sell barley for nov/April tip is impossible
Well I don't know. Why do you think that is?
I'm hoping we're in a bit of a Mexican stand off at the moment, but as said before, I still find it worrying that the merchants aren't dead keen to buy, I haven't heard from one for weeks and the other's texts are tentatively positive, neither saying the infamous words 'a, good opportunity to sell' which, in my very (this has no grounds in fact it research) opinion, means they have no idea where the market is headed. Been here many times before, at this time of year so we will just have to see where we end up.Well I don't know.
Logic would suggest it's because lack of willing sellers, but that should drive future prices
Home consumption will be drastically reduced due to the decrease in livestock numbers in the country.Jang

Cow and pig numbers are rising again aren't they?Home consumption will be drastically reduced due to the decrease in livestock numbers in the country.
Cow numbers still falling, pig numbers are still a lot less than they were.Cow and pig numbers are rising again aren't they?
Yeah but heading in the right direction, beef and milk on the up. Lot of heifers getting bulled around here. Poultry starting to stack up with lower grain prices and higher egg/meat values. The demand destruction ball is starting to swing the other way, I'm hoping.Cow numbers still falling, pig numbers are still a lot less than they were.
There will be huge pressure being exerted by governments to keep grain prices down to enable them to keep food inflation under control.Would you buy any more than the bare minimum, hand to mouth, if you thought by staying out of the market you could continue suppressing it.
Someone has to help keeep afloat the lie that the World is awash with unwanted grain.
Milk is going down in price, these heifers being bulled will have no effect on the grain trade for at least 18 months in fact it will have the opposite effect because instead of being fed they are being grown on . Poultry is improving , I’m not being pessimistic just realistic. It will swing back as it always does it might just take a wee bit longer than usual..Yeah but heading in the right direction, beef and milk on the up. Lot of heifers getting bulled around here. Be better speaking to supermarkets about that 1.There will be huge pressure being exerted by governments to keep grain prices down to enable them to keep food inflation under control.
I’m sure government is talking to the supermarkets and exerting pressure on them too. Food inflation running at 17.3%is spoiling the party.Be better speaking to supermarkets about that 1.
Factor in that these pigs now will be 5/6 kg lighter (eaten 20kg less feed) and all the pigs held back on farm that nobody could get a kill slot for and those figures look much worse!Pig numbers been sent to slaughter are about 40,000 a week less than 18months/ 2 years ago.
Just walked across my pigeon takeaway, barstewards aren't even giving it a chanceYou lot on here just love to undo my latest plans , finally get the last of my fert on today, wheat on osr stubble despite having 2 lots of pellets and a salt spray, a lot of it very thin, also sown straight into osr stubble, lot thinner between the drains .

Decided to plough the lot and put it all into continuous wheat now you lot are saying world awash with the stuff
