Russian grain is not unwelcome by every country. Many 3rd world economies will be taking advantage of discounted grains, displacing the traditional markets of other major exporters.
This is what I don't understand. There's not anymore cereals being produced in Russia/Ukraine.

Why is there grain depressing our markets?

It was going somewhere before. But is now getting sent West. Who's supplying the markets they previously supplied?

They've had a couple of decent harvests by the look of it....

how have they managed to double the yields they had 10 years ago?????
Better management, technology, fertiliser. Few mates went to work out that way about 10-12 years ago, you would not believe how backward it all was. And in some parts still is.
Physically putting the fertiliser on the field was a big improvement where as before it was sold for cash on the black market without the company knowing 🤣🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I always remember a talk by Ben Gill, ex NFU, must of been 30 years ago and he said about the soils he had seen over there and ukraine and he said if they get their act together and have yields like Western Europe the world will be awash with grain.

Yeah but there's probably another 2 billion people in the world since then and there will probably be another 2 billion before they completely get their act together.

Isn't the soil and climate in a lot of Russia and Ukraine pretty similar to soils and climate in central parts of Canada.
Given similar management and inputs they ought to yield similarly.

Trouble is corruption is rife. Fert. Pesticides go missing. And the staff drink vodka like tea.been told from a good source.
