What are those boot like weight wise. They look a nice boot, although in black would be nice.

I wear them pretty much all day, every day
they are my default footwear
only ever wear joggers / trainers when actually jogging or training . . .

I don't notice them feeling heavy, even at the end of the day or after a long walk
just weighed them, each boot is 890 g

Black boots
the only black footwear Ive ever had is dress shoes :D

These are Blundstones. Not zip sided but very comfy, light, steel toe, good ankle support and reasonably priced. Do a lot of km’s in them both work and bush walking.

How do you find them? I heard Blundstones quality had dipped lately. My Redbands have died after 2+ years of being worn daily, covered in cowshit & dairy chems.

I’ve been quite happy with them, but this is my second pair in a little over 3 years. I had to bin my last pair as I got bitten by a Rottweiler and the little (big) sh!t went straight through the leather just behind the steel toe cap, which kinda compromised their water resistance. Hate having wet feet!

They are no longer made in Tasmania as I understand it. Like everything it seems, manufacture has been moved to China, so if quality has dipped, that’ll be why.

I get them through work. We also stock Rossi’s but they never seem as comfy to me. They are still made here though.

Not wanting to teach anyone to suck eggs, but socks don't seem to have been mentioned yet, apologies if I have missed it. Having good socks is very important, they need to cushion the feet, insulate and 'wick' away moisture from the foot; good boots with bad socks are a waste of money.

Like boots, one kind of sock will suit some but not others; I use Hall's commando socks and find them comfortable and effective, having tried various 'civvy' hiking socks, I just don't get on with them. Goretex socks in leather boots are better than no goretex socks in leather boots, but they can't breathe very well due to lack of circulation round them.

Keeping leather clean and proofed is also very important, again, sorry if this has been mentioned. The army obsession with cleaning and waxing boots - which is a pain until one acquires the habit - is down to waterproofing, not smartness.
