Started lambing the crosses and culls early. Meant to sell them last year but they got put back in lamb so going to be selling with lambs at foot.

Anyone else castrating their Rams this year?
It depends on how soon you can get em gone, if they are going to be a while then castrate or crypt em (y)
but singles you can usually leave alone and sell em earlier

Twas a dry spring and summer here and plenty of hard lambs about the district, so on that basis I would say yes

no run up to lambing I bloody dread, just 2 weeks away now though.

I've hardly any grass but more than normal as well, But its harder knowing how much to feed em than a normal year, as any one else found that. They look just about right so fingers crossed

Yup, weathers been almost too good in the run up to lambing here... green fields, grass growing, fit ewes - I was reluctant to give them as much as other years (be lucky if I'm feeding half what I was this time last year) but the ewes are a touch on the thin side now compared to a couple weeks ago :banghead:

Atleast when it's shyte you know where you stand :cautious::bag:

Looking good make, keep us updated and the pics coming(y)
2 1/2 weeks its going to be tight for you:nailbiting:
I know.:eek::eek:. Not going to be perfect for this years lambing, but as long as they're undercover when it's raining, that'll save me a lot of work. Going to use some big square bales to split the shed up a bit or even run a temporary fence inside. Got to dig out for the electric as well. Concrete can wait till after shearing .

Leave the floor as type 1 for a year or so, then decide if you really want to pay for concrete - I still haven't got around to doing my latest one, and find it grand with straw onto gravel.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
