Companion/cover crop for oats

I’ve had a field drilled with spring oats and as it emerges it turns out that either the drill was very blocked or simply shat itself. (Not me drilling- contractor!)
There are 2m wide gaps and also a few other gaps within a 8m drill width. Just by looking at it I’d say there is 30-40% not sown.

Without starting WW3 (hence why I posted this here and not main cropping thread!) is there a cover crop I can spin on to fill in the gaps to take what’s there through to harvest or am I best to cut my losses and plant a cover crop to go with the oats and have it as a non cash cover crop?

Bit late now, but I redrilled mine on about the 1st of May, with more oats after the first lot were eaten by something. They came up really well the second time but unfortunately the crows ate them so not a great success
