Compatible Slats to "Frank Slats" for a Dowdeswell DP8 plough

Am I the only person with a Dowdeswell plough with Frank Slats?

I acquired it last year and subsequently found that spare slats are impossible to obtain. A couple are starting to crack near the mounting bolts, and I'd feel better with some spares.

I believe that the same slats were used on a German Gassner plough - but these are also no longer available.

They look similar to early Rabe slats. Is there any chance they may be compatible? Has anyone else come up with a solution?

Thanks,

Dafydd, Anglesey.

Dafydd.

Could I ask if you ever got over this little problem, I have just discovered the same issue.
Did you find a solution?

I bought the plough for its slatted body, without realising the hassle with the parts being discontinued to be fair.
We got some really tacky soil in places down here, used to run a vogel with solid bodies and were forever clogging up also have a khun slatted and that runs fine, this was purchased as a second plough.
If I can't mod the plough to take current slatted parts it may be traded in or sold on again unfortunately.

I got lucky. A farmer near Peterborough had a random pallet of assorted slats which I was able to buy.

I may be able to spare a few. Which slats do you need?

(I've been meaning to get a set reverse engineered - but it's probably not cost effective)

I'm currently converting the shares (or wings?) to Dowdeswell DD. Slotting holes using a hand file. It's a killer. (any better ideas gratefully accepted)

Cheers,

Dafydd
