hi all, few questions, or advice needed
I'll put this mildly, im gonna be badly affected by a new road if it gets the go ahead pretty much gonna be wiped out, as department of infrastructure aye looking to take 90% of my land,
This project was on the cards back in 16yr ago but didnt happen then but has now came back.
back then they said my dairy business was not viable,
is there any protocol or legal ways of valuing a business? aswell as the land and buildings now that they are irreplaceable with the way environmental planning in N.I has went ?

Essential to get yourself a good agent who is experienced in this sort of work. Highways agency will have to pay his/her fees. There are protocols but all these things eventually come down to negotiation. Look at all the wider implications to your life, property etc. and claim as much as possible for business disruption , etc.

Start now listing all your expenses involved with this. That means your time, every phone call, every meeting, times and places, photographs video sound (before and after),etc. And in the meantime get yourself a good agent experienced in compulsory purchase. You should not lose anything -- in so far as money can compensate. (Well, that's the theory).

Unfortunately, you’ll not be the only one, a lot of land required to make a dual carriageway from the Ballygawley roundabout to Newbuildings.

This has got to be the biggest kick in the teeth of a situation like this,
your not losing your ground " for the good of the road " but for some pie in the sky eco spinoff nonsense that the witchcraft crew say you need to have for green washing purposes 🤮🤮
and then when they decide they need an industrial estate or 250 houses .... look at this nice bit of land that no-one is using.:mad:

We've a piece next to a railway line due for upgrade. It might get to compulsory purchase. :(

If they thought you weren't viable 16 years ago and you're still there......
question answered.

Will you have remaining land both sides the proposed dual carriageway?
A few acres either side as the high ground is gonna be dozed into the low ground to be used as fill and the remaining low ground used as ponds and flood plains

Will you help clear snow?
