I have a feeling that you can get them out of Doncaster fairly reasonably. You might get a better deal if you can sort haulage yourself and then buy direct from network rail. I think that those who offering a delivered price are trying to stitch the job up a bit unreasonably. They know that the stewardship grants are paying £33/m, so are charging £30/m for the sleepers (7.50/sleeper). There does seem to be a fair imbalance of supply and demand in the South West. Perhaps @lazy farmer might be prepared to share the cost per metre of his proper concrete tracks?

its impossible for me to justify I'm afraid
current pour is £32 a running metre or £8 a square metre that's before bought in labour say another 50% and the fact that the base is already there.

£4 each ex Doncaster. DHL charging top whack for delivery but I suspect that by the time you've paid for your own man to do the induction etc that you won't make any savings.

That’s not bad value as a good bit wider than sleepers. You are half way there tho with a hard base, nearly all the sleepers we’ve put down are across the middle of fields straight onto dirt.
