£10000 or around £7 eachI am looking to put cow tracks in was wondering if any good companies in N yorkshire that people have dealt with that are worth using. How much would i expect to pay for approx 1400 sleepers
cheers
its impossible for me to justify I'm afraidI have a feeling that you can get them out of Doncaster fairly reasonably. You might get a better deal if you can sort haulage yourself and then buy direct from network rail. I think that those who offering a delivered price are trying to stitch the job up a bit unreasonably. They know that the stewardship grants are paying £33/m, so are charging £30/m for the sleepers (7.50/sleeper). There does seem to be a fair imbalance of supply and demand in the South West. Perhaps @lazy farmer might be prepared to share the cost per metre of his proper concrete tracks?
so not much difference really?its impossible for me to justify I'm afraid
current pour is £32 a running metre or £8 a square metre that's before bought in labour say another 50% and the fact that the base is already there.
true especially if your having to remove top soil which i understand is required if using grant money for the jobso not much difference really?
At what width?its impossible for me to justify I'm afraid

4 inches thick? Or 6 inches to take any traffic?4metres

That’s not bad value as a good bit wider than sleepers. You are half way there tho with a hard base, nearly all the sleepers we’ve put down are across the middle of fields straight onto dirt.4metres
remember 4 sleepers will do 1.15mters that's an extra 15 %I am looking to put cow tracks in was wondering if any good companies in N yorkshire that people have dealt with that are worth using. How much would i expect to pay for approx 1400 sleepers

Your concrete tracks will give much better foot health than sleepers.yeah the question for us was to either remove the base we had created to lay sleepers or crack on and concrete them.
hope soYour concrete tracks will give much better foot health than sleepers.
