Got some concrete to do
Wondering if to do myself with pan mixer
How do I think it compare to bulk or barrow mix
Got about 5 metres to do

No idea on price
6:1 wouldn't be far away, but actually measure it

just buy readymix ,all the same consistancy,get it in get it laid ,have a brew

I put 7,8,9 or 10 bags in my 0.75 cubic metre machine. Per mix

Dust now £3.25 (for a small order of 1 pallet, bought some today to finish a job.

I borrowed a pan mixer last year to do a couple of post holes, handy for that job but there's no way I'd entertain the idea of mixing the equivalent of a wagon load.

There was a time dad and me wouldn't have thought twice about doing that, but with a half bag mixer, I shovelled into mixer and dad wheel barrowed it into cubicles

Pan mixer is best for small jobs.
Unless you are young ,fit and tight with cash

Down here I can't even buy the materials for the same cost as bought in

Filling a pan isn't exactly difficult. 3-4 scoops of the skiddy 10 bags of cement to open and An ibc ready to wet the mix

By the time you've coughed and blinked out 50 bags of cement you'll wish you had ordered the readymix. Then you have to wash it all up...

I know what you mean but with a pan the concrete turns up when you want, about the right quantity and it is always fresh to work rather than being delivered 2 hours late with three men waiting.

I do wear a dust mask though

our local concrete lorries are pretty good they phone if there is a problem but i always try to get first load in morning ,never had aproblem with lateness

Again not a problem. Spray the pan with diesel before starting and it just hoses out spotless
