Going back a bit not had any in 10 years or more but a lleyn cross Suffolk was a fantastic ewe for what we did then they were my version of a mule without having to buy any ewes in.

The father in law has asked the Mrs to do a sex change from a heifer to steer, not done one before, can we do it on cts, if so how!

I could/should run them separately that would probably sort the job out a bit better, it’s just finding somewhere to put these sheep and farm them how I want to. The trouble is when I do this I will wonder what could be done with something better bred. Bought some Suffolk tups off Guardsmill they have got us some of the best Suffolk lambs going I really like them they are more than holding their own price wise against the Texel. I will keep some gimmers always good to buy off someone that can show fat lambs in numbers it never fails to come up with the goods

Yes same here. I meant standing their own when selling them as lambs didn’t mean to be confusing been dipping a few days now it’s gone to my head. I don’t rate Texel ewes either they like to have one and like it dead

We set what we can on or I should say the mrs does

When I’ve bought calves with the wrong sex on passport, ring CTS, explain. Get a Ref number, write it on top of passport, make alteration in pen and post it back to BCMS

I’m confused wasn’t the kilt invented because the Scot’s were shy and didn’t like the English knowing they shaged their sheep so wore a skirt to make them think they were women just kneeling down milking

I pity the person who buys them. They’ve been on bloody good Cheshire grass for a 6 weeks, some of them came down last year as drafts and had a crop of lambs before going too…

Full marks to the Hexham canteen girls today as well roast beef with mash, neeps, carrots and peas. Bloody beautiful. Made all the better by it being paid for by someone else!!
