Are any able or knowledgeable of how to actually contact Openreach.
I have been trying to access FTTP and on searches 3 properties on a post code I own can get FTTP and 2 unable.
I am aware that Openreach can not have upgraded there knowledge base as the 3 are at least 200 yards from where the cable is installed yet the site I would like connected is just 7Mtrs from where the Fibre is installed too in underground duct and box.
I have tried ordering and just get a fob off email and would like to be able too speak with there management.
Any contact info would be great as getting nowhere the way I have been going.

Trying to contact openreach direct is almost impossible. Our parish council managed to get a contact to sort out the scheme down our road but it seems they are not keen on talking to the masses

The scottish NFU have direct access a lot of people and bypass the plebs. Not sure how the English lot are set up, but if you are a member might be worth giving you local office a phone.

Use local telecoms firm. Most of them will have a direct link to openreach and maybe even a 'friendly' on the ground that knows what's going on.

The principle is opereach only deal with communication providers, ie, sky, bt retail, plusnet, vodafone etc etc

I'm in exactly the same situation as this thread I started shows in my last post;

I was thinking I would get in touch with ofcom if OR is no help.

OK WHO will take the credit. I have this lunchtime had 2 Openreach vans turn up and assess my position after probably 6 months of absolutely getting nowhere. As can be seen I came on here asking and within 24 hrs I get response I recon @Y Fan Wen must be Mr sort it.

BT are now planning to stop using the current system of 'public switched telephone network' 'PSTN', which is conventional tone dial telephony, by late 2025. They are replacing it completely with an internet based system which will result in completely free voice calls as I understand it. This is through a well established system called VoIP or 'voice over internet protocol'.

I guess this means that all the existing switching network and complications will become redundant and absolutely all services will be internet based. Hopefully this will coincide with most places having fibre to the premises or a choice of fast mobile signal or even satellite internet available for universal voice calls. Much the same as you can use, for instance, WhatsApp for voice calls currently.

Son was saying he has had a letter from BT saying from a date next month his copper phone line will stop working & the phone has to be pluged into the socket in the FTTP router.
As mentioned above the long term plan is to do away with services over copper wire

Reply from OR was:

Thanks for your recent enquiry via the Openreach website about getting faster
broadband.

I have looked into this and the fibre network has been built in your area but there
is an error in our records which is preventing you from placing an order. I’m now in
the process of correcting this for you.

I need to associate your address to the nearby fibre equipment. It will take us
about a week to complete this and you should then be able to place an order. I will
update you as soon as our systems reflect this.

I’ve got all of your details, so shouldn’t need anything else before coming back to
you. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.

Kind regards

I see that as quite encouraging.
