Yes that may be, but why put an extra piece of compaction 2m to one side of that when you can put it in one area only....

Same could be said for why ruin the straw straw and then it have too be turned too get it dry enough to bale it creating enough compaction pass??

Like Clive, I see the straw as more valuable when it’s chopped. I see your point, all depends on the system doesn’t it. I’m just answering the question of why it doesn’t necessarily matter that the wheel widths don’t match up.
