Bought one during the summer, works well.

Welsh Shearing Centre do one. I bought it in early summer. Very handy for cleaning dirty arses etc. Got 2 batteries.

Yes they look very handy, how long do the batteries last in the real world?

We have one , daughter uses it for trimming show sheep, sort of initial clip. In reality they are not strong enough for daily use, the battery clips break easily, to be fair Welsh shearing centre replaced them but the new ones are no stronger. I think they have had a few brought back to them. Chinese built and at a quality you should expect.

Far better get yourself a 12v Lister Nova, the real thing by comparison.

Dead on for doing the odd tail but if you're setting out to do the herd a corded one is the only job. We borrow a neighbours when we do ours and he gets ours when he does his. Get through them well having 2 going.

Can I borrow it too. Bull broke in to trimming crust area and wrecked all around him including the clippers. Doses knives shoes etc etc

Anyone use the ErgoPro cordless clippers? George mudge shearing had an offer on them on Facebook.

We use the Horner Rambo , cannot recommend it enough battery on the belt , shorn about 3000 sheep with it over 3 seasons (pet flocks ) and alpacas stood up it's also great when drafting lambs just walk down the race. And spot any dirty ones it's jump in do. It stood up the pouches mean you don't need to be looking for hand pice and can carry on with other jobs

how long/ how many animals are you getting to the battery on either of these clippers:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/112001994055
http://www.shearing.co.uk/product/shearcordless-animal-clipper/

(the ebay one and the welsh shearing centre one)

I only want mine for clipping cattles backs as they come in but we might get some sheep sometime in a few years so would be handy for odd bit of dagging? an/or shearing if we don't have many to do. don't want to spend a lot really as the sheep might never happen but definitely fancying one for cattle.

or even this master clip one?
https://masterclip.co.uk/product-range/product/dirty-cattle-clippers-hd-roamer-dirty-cattle-clipper
think I read it on another thread.

welsh shearing centre £210 + VAT (£252) 2x4AH Li batteries 12V 2800spm 180watt 12 month guarantee 1 hour per battery 2.5 hour charge
master clipper (ebay) £224.99 2x3AH Li batteries 10.8V 2300rpm 2 year warranty 2 hour battery 3 hour charge (same clipper on sheep shear says 1 hour per charge)

perhaps best to compare amp hour of battery rather than clipping time as different loads different times? but how to include the voltage difference and the power requirement difference?

corded cheapo ebay £68.99 220v corded 500W 3000 rpm
seems really cheap compared to cordless but is it cheap for a reason? Chinese crap?

theres a few others one at 650 watt

Would like to know battery life too.

Have sheep away on 2 blocks of land with no electricity... I've a Horner 12v hang up machine, but these cordless ones would be better/handier for dagging etc

I suspect the battery life to not be what actually happens in real life but it may be a way of comparing them. I will edit the original post to add in battery time

it is worth knowing but 465+vat they are quite pricey compared with the others probably worth it but can I justify that?

the price difference to the cheapo corded ones I'm debating if I can manage with a long extension you can nearly throw them away every couple year for the price?

I did mean battery run time, not life.

I've since found on the masterclip site, they expect battery run time of about an hour doing sheep...

IMO that's maybe not too bad, as you get 2 batteries in the pack. A battery is £50, so isnt too bad if an extra one was needed

IMO it's all subjective...

If you only need to do the odd dirty tail before selling fat lambs, the cheap ones could well last 10 years. But if you dag/crutch 1000 ewes and belly 3000 store lambs every year they might not last 6 months...

I think it was this one its black from ebay happy enough with it, it is a little cheap and Chinese but its more solid in your hand than it looks in pics, had to put tape around it as the caps for the motor brushes were loose to start with.

before I trimmed 1 calf I pulled machine up but was knelt on cord on top of crush so chipped a tooth on comb as it pulled me back!!!

for the money I cannot complain <just check I found one that was cheaper inc postage than that 1 I think

Dragging this thread up again:ROFLMAO:

Looking for a set of shears/clippers to make dagging easier.

Don't want hang up machine.
Ideally something with battery on belt or in the machine.
Needs to be man enough for southdowns

Any recommendations?

Lou:)

Check Horners website, I’ve the battery on belt clippers. Got a spare battery as well. Up to all jobs. Clipped all the cattle’s backs when they came in in September :(, and does all dagging jobs no bother!:)
